Medieval and Renaissance Jewish Manuscripts

Jewish artists have always integrated social and political history into their manuscript art. We have illustrated mishnah pages, haggadahs, marriage contracts  books which depict everything from weddings to medieval Jewish doctors and Jewish commerce. This presentation looks at that art. We will look at the captivating way artists integrated humour, political comment, and history into captivating images. This is a fascinating look at a subject that is rarely explored.
